.After years in the photography industry in Chicago, Devin began finding more and more comfort in the wood shop where he would go on to build a semi hollow cedar surfboard which he took on what would become a two year long surf trip. On the road he found work on organic farms and carpentry crews and eventually moved to Asheville, North Carolina where he started working full time for Casey Johnson Studios building high end furniture. After a couple of years in the shop, he felt a calling towards pursuing fine home building where he would land a position with Prasad Buildings. After a couple more years, Devin and his wife moved back to their native Minnesota roots and shortly after, Devin started Aadland Woodworks with the dream of combining fine furniture philosophy, patience, and appreciation with design elements from high end and natural home construction.

Adam Hathaway

Adam and Devin met on a framing crew in rural Minnesota years before they teamed up and began working full time with each other. Adam specializes in complex framing and fine trim work. With a keen eye for precision and detail, he is often the one spending hours or days on some of the most important aspects of the job because everybody knows he will get it done perfectly regardless of how long it takes. Adam loves being a carpenter and is equally happy setting complicated trusses or installing high end cabinets. Outside of work Adam is an avid hunter and fisherman and is often found collecting seeds from mature hardwood trees or walking around his 5 acres with his children taking in the natural wonders of the earth.
