Devin earned his bachelors degree in commercial photography from Columbia college Chicago in 2016. he started building elaborate sets for his photoshoots and got to a point where the photographs became second to the actual set construction. He felt a change in his creative desires and switched his focus to becoming the best carpenter he could be. After 8 years of studying under custom furniture designers and fine home builders in Asheville, North Carolina, Devin relocated to Hutchinson Minnesota with his family and set up his own shop. The mission of Aadland Woodworks is simply to create charming things using materials that are comforting, natural, and pleasant to be around. This usually means rough sawn lumber, natural oils for treating, boulders, stones, and earthen plasters. Whether Devin is building a sauna, or a jewelry box, the question isn't how to build this thing faster, but how to make this project more meaningful to the client.
